Second Visit to ASP 3/19

The second time I went to LaMotte it was just a little less awkward because I was with the others in my group. The second time was better because we actually got to explore with the iPads that the school had. The technology that we tried to use was mostly the notes app on the iPads and the camcorder app on the iPads. The non technology experience was that of kids doing homework mostly math using their fingers to count out subtraction and addition. One thing that worked was the structure of getting the kids to come and answer the questions or small script. The things that did not work is the structure after we were done with all the scripts and kids were just going crazy on photobooth.

First Day of ASP Thursday the 7th of March

During my first visit to LaMotte elementary I was directed to help just as much as the leader needed me. Some of the non-technology experiences that I saw where the students engaging in wildlife conservation of small bugs. Three different young girls where trying to see what blood the bugs had in them which was very odd. The only tech part that I encountered was the ASP leader showing me the cart that had Ipads on it. As for what did work and what did not was that the kids did not enjoy having me there and not being able to play math games. Maybe in the last two minutes let the kids play their math games but I will have to see how the others in my cohort feel about this suggestion.

Digital Story Telling

The way that I would use my digital storytelling video in my classroom is a way that my students would have a short overview of Shakespeare's work and life. This digital story should tie into a small similar project. The students should be able to meet Montana Content Standard for reading standards for informational text 6-12 graders. Where students analyze in detail how a key individual, event, or idea is introduced, illustrated, and elaborated in a text (e.g., through examples or anecdotes). Students should be able to describe small parts of William Shakespeare's life and accomplishments. They will also be able to explain the meanings of stanzas in his plays.
